Certain laws can impact their scope of practice, education, licensure, and the care they provide to pregnant individuals during home births.

For example, here in Arkansas unlike in other states, midwives are not allowed to carry or administer IVs.

like a traditional centered midwife, naturopathic doctor, or even a medical care provider that supports your decision for home birth.

Even though you won’t be delivering in a hospital setting, regular prenatal check-ups can help ensure ultimate health.

Step 3. Assemble Your Birth Team for Your Free Birth:

The onset of labor can be different for every woman! For me personally, I lost my mucus plug RIGHT before going straight into labor. Some women can lose their mucus plugs and not go into labor at all.

Getting involved in birth-worker networks will pay off because child birth education classes are not created all equal!

Know the contact information for local emergency services and have a transportation plan to reach a hospital quickly, if needed. Any doula and/ or midwife you hire should be able to easily and readily help you with these matters.

Engaging in regular physical activity throughout your pregnancy helps to maintain your overall health and increase your endurance for labor. Remember: Birth is a Marathon! and for marathons one must train.

You can do this by decluttering spaces in your home or by cutting off toxic associations that keep you stagnant.

Ties that need to be cut with people that no longer can support where you want to be in life.

God has for you in order for you to GROW, baby.

When you can prepare properly in all ways (financially, mentally, emotionally and physically),

you can almost indefinitely negate most if not all postpartum depression along with the proper support for healing postpartum.

Free birth stories are empowering, comforting and a reminder of your innate power as a woman.

I included one of my at home birth stories in my book because it was through this experience that I was led to becoming a doula in the first place.

What are the Risks of Free Birth or At Home Birth?

Simply put, if you have chronic health issues you will want to monitor your gestational journey more closely.

Certain chronic health issues can put you in the category of a ‘High Risk Pregnancy’. When this happens most modern medical doctors will shy you away from attempting an at home birth.

This is why as a doula and wholistic birth-keeper, I recommend you find the closest thing to a naturopathic doctor or a “seasoned” traditional midwife… or better yet find both: a medical doctor and a holistic wellness centered practitioner.

This is because with herbs and properly detoxing the body, you can change your health conditions over time through diligence and eventually your entire life.

Once you have discovered the root cause of your chronic health condition you can properly treat it holistically; then certain medical doctors will have high tech instruments that can best identity this root cause and therefore track it more readily/ easily.

If you are knew to these concepts, you will want to consult and also educate yourself on holistic wellness regimens related to your own specific needs! There are holistic remedies (especially related to diet change) that can help ANY ailments within the body.

In Closing

Achieving free birth or at-home birth is perfect for those who are interested in a more personalized and intimate birthing experience.

I will always encourage any woman who is low-risk, who actively takes responsibility for her own health, and is in connection with other women who support her wholeheartedly, to plan in as far in advance as possible to have the free birth or at home birth of her dreams!

It’s important to note that home births are not suitable for everyone, and individuals should consult with healthcare professionals to make informed decisions based on their medical history and circumstances.

So take life slow, focus on your breath work, be in communion with women of like mind, and focus on everything and anything that is good for you moment to moment.
